Help Baby Tanner Beat Retinoblastoma Cancer
Donation protected
Baby Tanner of Missouri was born to Kyle and Taylor Stearns on December 14, 2018 and was just diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a rare eye cancer, in both eyes and has no central vision in either eye. Tanner has 5 tumors on his right eye and 1 very large tumor on his left eye. The tumor on the left eye has also caused his retina to detach. He will start chemo next week. His doctors at St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN believe that they can save both eyes and possibly regain central vision in the right eye and keep peripheral vision in both.
In the meantime, his mother Taylor will be unable to return to work for at least 12 months while Tanner goes through chemo treatments. She will be away from home staying in Memphis after the first round of chemo and then hopefully traveling back and forth afterwards if the chemo schedule allows. Ideally, if we can bless them enough financially, his father Kyle would love to be present with his family in a Memphis as well.
Tanner’s family history has X-Link Retinoschisis which is rare and now Retinoblastoma which is also rare. Dr. Wilson said that 2 rare eye conditions in the same family is unheard of, it just does not happen.
Their older son, Emmett, is almost 2 years old and has undergone corrective bowel surgeries and multiple hospitalizations as well. There is much on the plate of this young family.
Please keep the prayers coming as they take on this new journey and help support this loss of income if you feel so led. ❤️
Thank you!
