Help Baby Tyler Receive Medical Care
Kamusta! My name is Christine Liwag Dixon and I'm raising money on behalf of the Ladran family of Cavite, Philippines. As GoFundMe is not available there and they have no family in the States able to help them, I will be forwarding all money raised to them for their grandson, Tyler.
Baby Tyler was born in January 2020 and is diagnosed with epilepsy and severe cerebral palsy. The COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines has made it difficult for his family to keep up with his medical expenses which include therapy, medication, and regular checkups.
Tyler is unable to sit up or stand on his own, has yet to speak, and still has not developed teeth. He only weighs a few pounds — much less than a child of his age should weigh — and has regular seizures due to epilepsy.
Tyler requires a rigorous occupational therapy program and medication. Without the proper care, he may never develop motor skills, which means he may never be able to speak or sit up on his own. It is critical that he not only receive the correct care but that he does so as quickly as possible, as early intervention is key to his overall development.
Tyler's family has received some donations in the past few months, but the funds were quickly depleted as Tyler has been having recurring fevers. We estimate that he needs need at least ₱271,200 (5,614.33 USD) to get through the next year. Any additional funds will go to his continued medical care.
Please give what you are able and share this fundraiser far and wide, thank you.
