Help Bao Complete Her 'Life Story'
[This campaign has ended. Thank you very much to all who have contributed. You are free to enjoy this short video on Bao's life story here: https://youtu.be/uwt0A9hgHmc ]
Dear Friend,
We are writing to let you know about our beautiful daughter, mother, sister, aunt, niece, sister-in-law, and cousin who battled breast cancer for two years until she took her last breath on July 14, 2021.
It is hard for us to accept that this kind soul, with a heart of gold, left us at the young age of 42.
Family and friends visited daily to pray and care for her until she was unable to keep up with the oxygen tank. We believe that she was aware of our presence and we feel that this helped to give her some peace during her final days.
This lady whom everyone admired and respected was our dearest, Bao Lee.
Her life story was full of impact, courage, and strength and we hope to inspire you to live life with purpose, because she did, by sharing some of the details of her unspoken goodness.
Our Bao was ...
- A survivor who learned how to overcome years of hardship early on.
- A single parent who successfully raised both of her children since their births (currently Sami is 18YO and Junior is 20YO).
- A modern photographer who progressively built a stable profession within the Twin Cities communities for nearly two decades.
- A responsible homeowner capable of handling more than the necessary maintenance issues and yard work.
- A compassionate host, always first to offer her home as a safe and warm shelter to family and friends - whether their stays be for days, weeks, months, or even years.
- A thoughtful family member who consistently spoiled her 12 growing nieces and nephews for their birthdays, Easter, July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas; her kind acts also extended to many others as well to celebrate their special milestones such as wedding anniversaries and education/work achievements.
- A good human citizen often recognized for her continuous efforts, time, and resources to positively impact the lives of those around her - whether it be to help host a summer camp for 100+ people or to sew hundreds of face masks for giveaway during the early arrival of Covid-19.
If you have read this far, thank you for your time.
If you can spare a minute, it would mean a lot to us if you could share this message.
If you decide to contribute, please know that we will be using the funds to give Bao an honorable day of funeral service followed by cremation. If we exceed our goal, any additional funds will go to support her children's college education and future.
Her final wish is to be sprinkled into her favorite body of water, Lake Superior, and this will conclude Bao's Life Story.
Thank you so much for your support.
Yours gratefully,
Bao's Family
