Help Barb after a traumatic brain injury

Hi everyone as hard as it is to ask and as proud of a person our Barbara is, the medical and everyday living expenses have become too much. We are starting a fundraiser for Barbra Sharp. Barb is originally from NJ and moved to Virginia for a more easy laid back life style. Her devoted sons were soon to follow. Barbara has always taken care of everyone. From rides to babysitting, to giving when she didn’t have it to give and went/goes without most of the time because of her kind nature. Now is our chance to give back. A few months ago Barbara went into a surgery center to get a standard knee replace and to fix a torn ACL which she acquired while of course helping someone out. Because that’s our Barb. After her surgery she was released
with a clean bill of health and had a small road to recovery from the surgery. However, within days after her knee surgery she fainted and was found bleeding from her head and unconscious she was rushed to the hospital. While in the hospital it was discovered Barbara had a traumatic left acute subdural hematoma- in other words a brain bleed. Barbaras head was shaved and her brain sliced open to release the pressure of the active bleed she was experiencing. For two weeks she was intubated due to acute respiratory failure with hypoxia -she was not well enough to to breath on her own. During this time she was placed in a medically induced coma, to rest her brain and body for recovery. She developed sepsis. But we all know the fighter that Barbara is!! She never gave up, and eventually after two weeks opened her eyes. Her respirator was removed and she was able to breathe on her own. AND talk!! The doctors were calling her a miracle. After a few weeks in ICU she was moved to a rehab facility to learn things like walking, talking and swallowing just to name a few. Barb is now home, however is unable to work and has a long road ahead of her to recovery through physical therapy, speech therapy and cognitive work. All of that cost money on top of the mounting hospital bills and rehab stays. Everyday life still continues on and without money coming in things like rent, money for gas, food, utilities etc. are also adding up. Not to mention her beloved animals!! Barbara’s immediate family is doing their best to help financially but they still can’t cover all the bills coming in. Please donate…any small amount will help. Barbara has always helped and taken care of everyone and every animal she’s come across her whole life. Now it’s our turn to help Barb. Even creating a go fund me is upsetting for her to have to ask for help. So as her family we decided to ask for her.
