Help Barbara and Carl save their beloved dog, Kenya
Donation protected
This is Kenya, the beloved dog of DC community leader Barbara Cooper and her 12-year-old son, Carl. She's been in and out of the vet's office over the past week because she hasn't been eating—her weight has dropped down to a frightening 54 pounds, and she's completely lethargic. The snowstorm delayed Kenya's followup appointment until today, and the results we got with the diagnostics were dire. Her kidney measurements are so elevated that the machine can't even read it. We realized that were not going to be able to afford days of hospitalization (our initial $9,800 goal) nor any further support after (not even factored into the estimate) and that this wouldn't be a guarantee of saving Kenya. Barbara has made the difficult decision to go with at-home euthanasia so that she and Carl can be there when Kenya passes. We are adjusting our goal to cover this cost ($840) as well as the consult at Friendship Animal Hospital ($290). Thanks again for your support, it's meant the world to Barbara.
