Help Barbara Weeman Recover From Heart Surgery.

Barbara Weeman Needs Your Help While Recovering From Major Heart Surgery.

On April 21st, Barbara Weeman underwent extensive open heart surgery to replace a faulty heart valve and repair an Ascending Aortic Aneurysm (a serious bulging of the artery that carries blood away from the heart). Two days later she had a second emergency surgery to remove several lemon sized blood clots that had formed in her chest. Barbara had not been feeling well for many months prior to her first surgery, but she pressed on with her life as she always does! Anyone who knows Barbara can tell you that she is the most selfless and generous person you would ever meet. She is a “Can Do” person!!

Barbara is a 1972 graduate of Kennebunk High School and has been an avid participant in the Alumni Association for years. She is the mother of three daughters and has 6 grandchildren. She has dedicated her life to being the best Daughter, Mother, Wife, and Grandmother that she can be. But her efforts do not stop there. Many of you know her because of the immense time and energy that she dedicates to local causes such as the West Kennebunk Family Fun Days, Christmas at the Dorothy Stevens Center, and pretty much any spaghetti dinner or other fundraiser to benefit community members in need. We all owe her a great deal of gratitude.

Barbara has been instrumental in running several businesses in town including Weeman’s Appliance Repair and of course the Lunch Box in West Kennebunk. Who hasn’t eaten at the Lunch Box? In speaking to Barbara’s friends, we all wondered “When does Barbara rest?” She is always on the go; thinking of everyone else before herself. I can tell you that just being in Barbara’s presence makes you feel good about yourself. She makes you feel like everything is going to be okay.

Now she needs our help!

We are asking for your generous donations to help offset the loss of income as Barbara will be recuperating for at least three months after these major surgeries and there will be many expenses related to her rehabilitation. She will be temporarily unable to assist her husband, Allen in running Weeman’s Repair but the Lunch Box will hopefully open in a new location (The Mason’s Hall in West Kennebunk), run by her granddaughter, Carley.

Our preliminary goal is $25,000 and no donation is too small, but of course give as much as you can. Please also consider sharing the link to your social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) or text to your friends. The more people we reach, the faster we attain our goal to give some much needed financial relief to Barbara and her family so she can focus 100% of her energy on healing.

Thank you so much for your donations and God Bless.
