Hi, my name is Barrington Lewis.
Came to this wonderful country 1983 with nothing but a dream and the desire to work hard to fulfil those dreams.
I came here on an athletic scholarship (track and field) to Bakersfield COLLAGE then on to OREGON STATE UNIVERCITY.
About seven years ago, right before my son joined the Navy, I started a small restaurant (Barrington's Jamaican Kitchen).
This little place is currently ranked number one in the state of California, according to Yelp.
We are currently boasting a Rare 5 star rating after almost 500 reviews.
We survived the Pandemic with help from the Gas and electric company and a very Patient Landlord.
We first got into our first challenges when we were unable to get a business loan from the regular banks.
We were very close to getting a PPP loan fr the SBA but they had exhausted there funding before they got to me.
So merchant cash advances were my only hope.
as a results, I am strapped with daily payments of up to $250.00 ninety days at a time.
The Pacific Gas and Electric company (PG&E) had cut our power 3 weeks ago leading us to operate using 2 generators( so far so good).
We are now also faced with 3 day notice from the Landlord to give up the property unless we can come up with $14,000.00
So here we are!!
