Help Bash Through Disability Application Process

We are reaching out to the broader community to show support for Bash. He is an amazing volunteer mutual aid organizer, connecting marginalized community members with critical funds in time of need. He is a wonderful friend and all around great person who always wants to help others.

Now it is time for us to show our appreciation and support for him. Bash is disabled and working to support himself is further disabling him. At this point his fibromyalga and comorbid conditions make him unable to support himself. At the suggestion of medical providers, and his state case worker, he will be applying for disability income.

Officially applying for, appealing, and getting approved for disability status is a long involved process. Due to no longer being able to substantially work, until approved, he will be with little to no income. This could last up to three months without having to appeal and longer if they require an appeal.

We, as his close network of friends and family, continue to give the support we can. Unfortunately, that is not currently enough for basic necessities. We are asking for your support as we support him.

We are setting our initial goal to cover 3 months of basics (rent, utilities, food, medical costs, etc). We would be so grateful to surpass that goal to provide extra security for possible appeals. We will keep you updated on if we need to extend, but for now, 3 months of basics.
