Help Bastian Get Liver Shunt Surgery
In February 2020 we got a our sweet new boxer puppy, thinking he could grow up with our boy. A few weeks after bringing him home he was at the emergency vet fighting for his life. Since then Bastian has been in and out of the vet constantly with multiple illnesses - all leading to a diagnosis of a liver shunt.
Our regular vet can't do the surgery and the specialist in our area can't because of the multiple medical problems our sweet Bastian has. We've been referred to UF Vet Hospital in Gainesville to get his surgery done. This process is costly and without it our boy likely won't make it to the age of two. Untreated, most dogs pass away before the age of two.
Bastian is goofy and quirky. He has crooked legs and the sweetest sad face. He loves his golden brother and his human big brother. He loves snuggling with Mom in her chair and playing with Dad. He brings so much joy to out family. We know that to some he is "just a dog" but to us he's a beloved member of our family we're just not ready to say goodbye to. We love him and want to do whatever possible to give him the best possible life.
