Help Bea beat Lung Cancer

I am setting up this fundraiser for my beautiful friend Bea Moss, recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer.

Some of you may know Bea from her business Goodness Be - which she founded a few years ago, delivering locally sourced organic produce boxes to families and businesses in the Noosa shire and beyond.

Or from the local Kin Kin community where Bea lives with her husband Damo and their teenage daughter, Kishi.

Or you may be lucky enough to have crossed paths along the way and be able to call her a friend.

Bea is a non-smoker and lives a very active and healthy lifestyle.

Bea and her husband Damo have a gorgeous 14-year-old daughter; she is self-employed and, due to this illness, cannot currently work, and they are in the middle of a major home renovation that has taken years to complete and consumed their entire life savings.

This diagnosis is a devastating blow to their family.

Her prognosis is also a rare one. Bea's is a case that affects only 2% of lung cancer patients. It is an ALK mutation of Adenocarcinoma. It is in her lung and Lymph Nodes surrounding the lungs.

Her Doctors have told her that chemotherapy will have a low success rate and the best chance she has of survival is a newer type of targeted therapy treatment.

However, as her case is rare, this treatment will not be government funded.

The out-of-pocket cost for this targeted therapy treatment is $7000.00 a month, estimated at a starting cost of $55'000.

She is also exploring integrative/complimentary holistic treatments (oxygen therapy, rife frequency etc.), which are also entirely self-funded, to give her body the best fighting chance.

Bea, Damo and Kishi are among the most caring, resilient and incredible people I know.

She and Damo regularly give back to the community through Bea's business. Gifting boxes weekly to local families in need and making large charitable donations to causes that affect our entire community, most recently the S.E. QLD floods.

She told me recently that although this is the most devastating time in her life, it has also been the most beautiful and humbling because of the outpouring of love she and her family have received.

That's who this incredible person is. She's one of the best ones.
