Help Beau Kick Cancer’s Ass
Donation protected
Dear friends and family,
Photographer, painter, guitar god, father, and all-round excellent Chicagoan, Beau Glazar, is being treated for esophageal cancer. At the beginning of the year, he began feeling symptoms of what felt like a severe case of acid reflux, and the first course of medical advice was to change his diet and take antacids. Despite the changes, his conditions worsened. Eating and drinking became unbearable. He went back for blood work and more tests, yet the doctors saw nothing to suggest a more serious condition. His severe weight loss finally triggered them to conduct an esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) where they discovered a mass that was sending stomach acid bubbling up his throat. A biopsy of the tissue determined that it was stage III esophageal cancer.
Beau has already started chemotherapy to beat this thing, and is expected to have radiation treatment followed by surgery to remove the tumor later this year. The doctors at Northwestern strongly discourage his work as a contractor during various parts of his treatment prior to his surgery, and forbid it for the two-month recovery period afterward.
In order to avoid financial hardship for Beau, his wife Nikki, and his beautiful daughter Cora, we are raising funds to assist with the costs of therapy, surgery, and living expenses during his recovery. No donation is too small. Any amount helps.
Beau’s Long, Tough Battle Plan To Beat Cancer:
Six Chemotherapy sessions begining June 7th.
Twenty eight Radiation blasts.
Surgery is anticipated to happen late August.
Beau can begin working again November 1st.
About Beau:
Beau is a prolific artist, tirelessly creating as a painter, visual design artist, photographer, poet, and musician. He’s been a cornerstone of the Chicago underground rock scene for decades by running recording studios Cosmic Dragon, Deafdog, and Evolving Music while also playing in bands like Comatose, Soulfood, 13 Flowers, Cups and Icecubes, Hellzfunk, and The Anti-Trumpz. The music and recording alone would keep most people busy, but Beau has an immense body of artwork, painting and photography as well. He does all this while working as a contract painter, renovating homes all throughout Chicagoland. But if you asked him, he would say his greatest creation is his five-year-old daughter Cora.
