Help Beauly Oil Tanker Driver

We are trying to fundraise to help the beauly oil tanker driver that crashed on 17 September 2021.

 

After the crash he was rushed to Raigmore hospital for assessment by CT scan. The news was devastating…he had a brain tumour. In a matter of seconds, the world was turned upside down for all his family…He was then transferred over to be cared for in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Surgeons carried out a biopsy a week later to categorise the type of tumour to determine the treatment needed.

 

Unfortunately during the biopsy it resulted in the driver being left paralysed on the right hand side of his body and his speech has also been affected. He then took a bleed which resulted in a clot, they then had to partially remove the top part of his skull due to swelling. He spent a weekin ICU then a high dependency ward in Aberdeen. 

 

His pregnant wife had the huge expense of having to stay in hotels for last 4 weeks to be close to him and to be there for visits and in case of emergencies. Their family stay 150 miles away which makes it even harder on Chloe.

 

As of 15 October the driver was transferred to Raigmore for rehabilitation: timing is vital to get this started quickly.

 

At some point in the future once results of biopsy come back he will start chemo to reduce tumours size and then an operation to hopefully remove it, he will then need a metal plate put on his skull.

 

We are all hopeful he will make a good recovery as his first baby is due in February.  

 

If and when he is well enough to return home this will mean a significant change to daily life, which is why the family launched this GoFundMe to hope for donations to assist him in terms of care, equipment and living modifications.
