Help Beauty get back surgery

Hi, my name is Carrie and I have a 10 year old pit mix rescue named Beauty who I adopted when she was only 5 months old. Last month Beauty was diagnosed with intervertebral disc disease or IVDD, it can also be described as a bulging or herniated disk. This is where the padding in-between the vertabrae starts to thin and breakdown causing them to compress the spinal cord, which in turn starts to cause nerve issues that, if left untreated, can get to the point where the dog becomes paralyzed.

At the time of Beauty's diagnosis, it wasn't that severe so our vet was hopeful that meds and rest would help. However, in the last month Beauty's condition has gotten worse and she has started to lose function in her back legs. She can still stand on her own for short periods and if we use a blanket under her back end we can still assist her somewhat in walking but not very far. She currently has no pain reflexes in her feet. When it starts to get this bad, you are essentially racing the clock. The longer left untreated, the greater the risk of permanent paralysis. To treat this, Beauty requires surgery. As Beauty has not lost complete function in her back legs yet, with surgery, the success rate of Beauty regaining her back legs and being able to walk are very high, but the longer we wait, the less the odds become.

The surgery for this however is expensive and we don't have that kind of money, especially since we just had to replace our furnance a month before Beauty was diagnosed so we are tapped for loans and credit. Our vet called the specialist to get a quote for us and we were told anywhere from $5000-7000. This is just a ballpark quote though without the specialist actually phyiscally seeing Beauty. We have a consult this coming Thursday where we will get a more accurate quote that I will share when we receive it. I am asking for help in raising the funds for Beauty to get this surgery. I'm usually pretty independent and don't like to ask for help, especially financially, but Beauty is such a mama's girl, she is my baby and I will do whatever I need to do to get her help, even if that means asking others for help. Even if you can only donate $5, that is still $5 I didn't have before. And if you can't donate, if you could help by sharing Beauty and myself would be ever thankful!
