Help Bec & Joel build up from the ashes

Who this will help
I'm Megan, born and raised Glenorie girl, and most significantly, the proud twin of Rebecca Mills, or as most everyone knows her, Bec or Miss Mills. Bec, her partner Joel, and their daughter Abby are long time locals (we're talking from birth (Bec) and 8yrs (Joel), and if you didn't know Bec from growing up with her, you may know her from her longstanding role in Glenorie Public School (and Middle Dural Public School), supporting students and teachers over her 18 Years of service there.

Why I'm fundraising
Today, On the 4th of January, Bec, Joel and Abby's home in Maralya was made unliveable in a house fire, just hours after they took off to try and enjoy a summer holiday at the south coast. Their two gorgeous cats, Boris and Pearl escaped the blaze, with Pearl being taken to an animal hospital for treatment. Boris is sadly missing.

Bec and her family are luckily not hurt, which we are so grateful for, but everything of theirs, built up as precious possessions over 10 years living on St John's Rd is un-salvageable, leaving the family of 3 with little to their name, and a house unlivable, just weeks before school goes back.
I know words aren't much to paint a picture, but when I say everything is gone, I mean EVERYTHING. Anything not burnt is melted beyond repair, from furniture to toothbrushes, clothing to bedding, appliances to food and medication, they are starting from scratch. If you yourself know how long it takes to make your house a home over a decade, you can imagine the sheer loss, damage and devastation this has caused.

Bec and Joel both work so hard to be able to provide for their little family, and this setback is a hard one to face, and will take a long time to be able to get back on their financial feet.

The impact of your support

With your support, I'm hoping we can lessen the impact on Bec, Joel and Abby, allowing them to replace their belongings and begin the process of repairing and restoring their little church home.
Support purchasing School supplies, school uniforms etc would help get Abby ready to return to school without additonal financial burden on the family, as they look to use all their disposable income in rebuilding and regaining what was lost in the fire.
Your donations might also be able to be used for fees and costs associated with aftercare for adorable Pearl and Boris (if he is found safely and taken to care), and could contribute to the provision of adequate support should it be needed to ensure the emotional and mental safety of the family following this traumatic event.

I know I am biased, Bec, Joel and Abby are some of the most selfless people I know, and I'm absolutely positive of the impact they've made on their friends, family, and our Glenorie community. Now's the time to get behind these guys and show them the same support!
