Help Rebecca beat cancer

In late April Becca was diagnosed with colorectal cancer and began initial diagnostics and doctors appointments to get a prognosis and definite course of treatment.

During the discussions with the oncologists, surgeons, and nurses we realized the true impact to our family. The doctors and screening tests revealed that Becca has a T3 adenocarcinoma that is local but has also spread to one if not more local lymph nodes.

Due to this diagnosis, Becca will be following a treatment plan involving systemic chemotherapy for 4 months, then combination of chemo/radiation therapy and finally a surgery to remove the remaining cancerous cells in mid-late December 2019.  

As many of you know, Becca recently paused her career to care of our son Marlow during his first few months and until we were able to afford and move into our own home. Becca was hoping to return to work before the end of the year, but with this diagnosis and her treatment she will not be able. Nor will she be well enough during her treatment to safely care for Marlow herself as she has been the last few months.

We are lucky to have great friends and family, and were careful to plan ahead. We have good health coverage which takes care of a large portion of the treatment costs. However the co-pays and additional costs of treatment alongside child care costs for Marlow are more than we expected.
