Travel to NY for an Endometriosis Laparoscopy
Hi there, my name's Becca, I'm 29 years old, I live in Nova Scotia, Canada, and since February 2021 I have been living with yet-to-be diagnosed Chronic Pain. People are aware of Canada's free health care, but they are not aware of just how horribly slow it is, making it nearly (and in many cases actually) impossible to receive help. So I am saving the funds to travel to wherever necessary to receive the help I need as I can feel that my condition is worsening.
In the last months of 2020 I was experiencing low energy, and what the doctors assumed were flu aches. February 2021 I woke up in extreme pain that has stayed consistent since. I have had to give up my job as a personal trainer, move home with my parents to be taken care of, and be bedridden 90% of the time. I have been to the ER 9 times for any help/tests that I can receive. (MRI, CT, EKG, Ultrasounds). Last month I went in for extreme pain and they sent me home as there is nothing more they can do while waiting for referrals which can take years.
I believe that I may have Endometriosis or possibly a nervous system disorder. Regardless of what I think I can feel that my symptoms are becoming worse and I am fighting to figure out what is wrong with me before it potentially kills me.
September 16th I'm travelling to Montreal to visit a private clinic for the first scope I need, a Gastroscopy. The doctors think that this will come back healthy as I'm not having stomach issues. The next step will be finding a private hospital for a Laparoscopy.
Thank you for any support you can possibly give. I am absolutely desperate to stop this pain that I live in and get my life back. All funds donated will go to covering tests, medical procedures/surgeries, and traveling expenses.
