Hace una semana Becza fue traslada a la ciudad de Mérida donde está la mayoría de su familia y seres queridos.  Seguimos recaudando fondos para costear tratamiento paliativos de alto costo que ayudarán a Becza con el dolor de su enfermedad, Sarcoma de Edwin.

Hola, soy Nahir Beczabeth Peña Arias, tengo 32 años, vivo en Venezuela junto a mi esposo y mi hijito de 10 años.

La vida nos sorprendió a mi y mi familia, con un reto muy difícil, sin embargo, estoy dispuesta a enfrentarlo:

En medio de la pandemia, en junio 2020, he sido diagnosticada con un Sarcoma de Ewing (cáncer óseo). Debo iniciar urgentemente la primera fase de mi tratamiento, que consiste en 17 ciclos de quimioterapia y otros estudios complementarios: tomografía, hematologías, ecocardiograma, entre otros.

Este proceso de estudios y análisis, incluyen un tratamiento de alto costo, que en Venezuela, es difícil y complejo costear.

Es por ello que acudo a ti, a tus amigos, a personas solidarias, de buen corazón, para pedirles su apoyo y contribución.

Dear friends and family, many of you are aware of the complicated socio - economical situation that is affecting my home country Venezuela. This situation  has deteriorated very quickly, to the point that the country is in the brink of total collapse . Currently, Venezuelans have very limited access to basic everyday life essentials such as food, water, electricty, medicine and even gasoline . It is very difficult for anyone to carry on with everydaylife. In this climate, the worst thing that could happen to anyone living in Venezuela is being diagnosed with a serious life threatening illness. 

In March 2020, right in the middle of the Covid 19 Pandemic lockdown,  my 32 year old cousin Nahir Beczabeth Peña Arias, who lives in Venezuela, presented a tumor on her right shoulder. After some testing and a biopsy, she has been diagnosed with one of two possible types of  very aggressive cancer:  Skeletal Ewing Sarcoma or Mesenchymal Chondrosarcoma.

The diagnostic studies reveal that there is a very high possibility that the cancer won't react to the chemotherapy, in which case amputation of her right arm would be the only course of action possible to save her life. 

I am hoping  to raise the equivalent of $10,000USD to help cover medical treatment expenses, the fitting of a prothetic limb if needed and some economic relief for her ten year old son and husband.

Although I am raising funds for my cousin, they will go directly into my Canadian account and then transferred to a Venezuelan account as needed. Unfortunately Nahir is unable to receive the funds directly into her account, set in Venezuelan currency, as it will devalue if not used immediately. The 2019 inflation rate of Venezuela was 1,370,001% 


The current and ongoing plan is to raise enough money to help cover the remaining diagnostic tests and the initial 2 to 3 rounds of chemotherapy.  At the same time we will continue to fundraise until our goal is reached and Nahir is well and healthy. 

 Any small amount will go a long way in Venezuela.
