Help Bekim to rebuild his home

Hi, my name is Bekim Sejdiu.

I'm fundraising for the loss of my apartment to an electrical fire. It began in the middle of the night, starting on the balcony spreading into my home. My partner Freddy and I were able to escape in time with our cat Momo & dog Logan. Logan was able to wake us up in time to call for firefighters to put out the flames before it could spread across the entire building. Many thanks to the Charlotte Fire Department for their swift action. No one was fatally injured in the process, however, most of my belongings are not recoverable.

The total loss is in excess of $30,000+, any donation is greatly appreciated to get me back on my feet and restart in a new home with basic essentials. I am actively looking for an affordable place at this time.

Some background information for those who don't know about me:

I'm a first generation American, my Italian mother & Kosovar father arrived in NYC with nothing to their names in the mid 90's. I grew up in Queens & ended up in Charlotte for school. I'm also the only member of my family to have had the privilege of attaining a college education. I recently studied at UNC Charlotte for my Masters of Architecture & became one of the youngest licensed architect in the Carolinas. I specialize in sustainable green design & am establishing myself for a future career in Net-Zero/Net-Carbon architecture to reduce our impact on climate change and environmental degradation. On my free time, I love gardening & once had over a hundred distinct species of plants in my home. Also being an avid reader, I had hundreds of books, ranging from fiction to professional design books to assist my career. I'm also a huge sci-fi nerd and I'm extremely passionate and vocal about changing the way we interact with the world.
