Help Bela with Medical Expenses and Time Off Work

Donation protected
When Bela started spotting with her recent pregnancy, she went to Planned Parenthood where she was sent immediately to the hospital for emergency surgery. She had to undergo the unthinkable, on top of the reality of losing two babies in two months. She has been on bedrest since, unable to work, and even with a minimal hospital stay, the hospital bills are more than we could imagine. We are asking for your help during this fragile time, and any money donated will be put towards hospital bills, and covering her expenses during this time off.

Bela: November is a month where we are incredibly thankful for those we have around us. It couldn’t be more true for me this year. Aj and I were pregnant again and were so excited to be parents thinking no way something bad will happen after the loss we had just suffered two months ago. Unfortunately, this time around would be worse. I got some labs back that right away (thankful to my nursing career) indicated something was wrong. My progesterone was extremely low for me being 6 weeks, and my HCG was very high. I couldn’t get a hold of my OB, which was incredibly frustrating so I made an immediate appointment at a planned parenthood near me. I told them I believed I had an ectopic pregnancy because of my labs and the fact that I was bleeding. They performed a transvaginal ultrasound and, unfortunately, found that the pregnancy was ectopic. The baby was in my right tube. I was sent immediately to the emergency room. Aj and I were immediately admitted and put into a room awaiting further tests. They performed another ultrasound to confirm it and this time it was 3D. I saw the baby’s head forming and the heartbeat . Since the baby had a heartbeat, I had to undergo emergency surgery. The surgeon came in to talk to me about it and told me there was no guarantee he could save my tube. Hearing news like that on top of everything else we had been dealing with was devastating. I consented to the surgery and the risks. I went in for surgery and I was in so much pain when I woke back up. They told me that they did get the pregnancy out of my right tube but went to check on my left tube and found a big mass inside of it. The surgeon doesn’t know if this was a past pregnancy or if this was something more severe like a cancerous mass. The mass on the left was sent to pathology. Aj and I are still awaiting those results. I am currently home in bed. Unfortunately I have dealt with a lot of loss in my life at the age of 24 and one of the things I tend to do now is hold in my emotions but I am trying hard not to do that. I am struggling to sit up and walk without ajs assistance. I am in an enormous amount of pain. More than anything I’m thankful. I am grateful my mom showed me how to be strong & independent at a young age. I am thankful to have a strong man like Aj by my side. I am thankful to have family who is there for me and willing to help me recover. I am thankful to have friends who drop what they have planned to be here for me during this. I am thankful to have a boss who said please take care of yourself first. I am thankful that my surgeon performed a successful surgery. I am hopeful that Aj and I will have a healthy beautiful baby sometime in our future. I am not religious but I do believe that everything happens for a reason. Even though I don’t know the reason, I am confident that with the people I have by my side I will be okay. The mental toll this has taken on me is a big one but I will overcome this. The next three months will be about recovering, healing and listening to my body. As a patient if you feel something is wrong please advocate for yourself. It is imperative.

Thank you for your support during this time.
