Help Bella & Caroline get their Karate Blackbelts
Donation protected
Hi, our names are Caroline and Isabella - we are a mother and daughter team. For the last 4 and a half years we, (alongside my younger daughter Jessica) have attended a karate dojo in Faversham under Sensei King at Karate Leadership UK. Karate is so much more than a martial art. It has taught us about respect - for ourselves and others, perseverance, tenacity, mental toughness and generousity of spirit. It has challenged us and pushed us beyond our comfort zone time and time again. It has given us confidence, as women in our ability to protect ourselves in the world and showed us what can be achieved, with the love and support of others. In February Bella and I are due to undertake our 8 week blackbelt testing. This consists of physical tasks: such as cycling 25 miles and a day (7 hours) of testing which ends with 1000 punhes and 1000 kicks. A day of technical testing: 6 katas, take downs, wrist locks and a creative kata, which we have to devise and perform. We will also have to raise money for charity, complete a personal statement, plus other task, presenting it all in a folder showing all we have done. It is a huge task but one Bella and I are hugely excited about (if a little terrified too!) However, we have a hurdle - we need to raise £250 each to grade, receive our belts and certificate and be able to attend the presentation dinner. We are commited to and passionate about our karate journey and would dearly love to be able to go for our blackbelts. We therefore are asking you, our family and friends, if you are able, to donate some money, so that we can go ahead with our grading in February. Many thanks in advance to everyone.
