Help Belle See Her Future

Donation protected

Hi I am Gemma, I am sharing a story on behalf of a friend.

I would like to introduce you to Belle, a French Bulldog 9 years old, she is the most loveable dog who greets everybody enthusiastically with her friendly disposition and her waggy tail that’s if you could call it a tail, she is amazing considering she has endured so much suffering.

Belle was stolen as a puppy and was just about bred to death, then dumped as she was no longer wanted, obviously her useful breeding life had come to an end.  She was found wandering and as she was still microchipped to the breeder she was returned to them.  However, due to age and condition the breeder no longer wanted her, she was then passed on to another breeder, who thought they could breed from her, fortunately for Belle, she did not take and ultimately, they wanted to rid of her.

Belle came into my life after a friend told me about her plight, she was 6 years old.  She arrived with a serious chest infection; she was breathless and unable to walk very far.  After a course of antibiotics, the chest infection cleared up but she remained breathless.  After consultation with the vet, it was decided that she needed to undergo surgery to open up her airways and widen her nostrils.  Despite the operation being risky and expensive it was worth every penny to see her happy, running around and playing it was amazing.  Once she recovered, she was spayed for obvious reasons, but because of multiple births she suffers from incontinence, mainly at night-time.

Unfortunately, because of the neglect she went through she suffered from multiple ear infections and had to undergo surgery to fix both of them, sadly it left her with droopy ears but it only adds to her charm.  She then started with ulcers in both her eyes but after a fairly long battle of administering drops with regular visits to the vets she recovered.

Sadly, she has now started with a tumour over her left eye, and needs to have a biopsy taken in order make a definitive diagnosis.  I have fought so hard to give her a better life and now I feel I am letting her down.  I am now retired and on a meagre pension and finding it difficult to raise the funds for a biopsy which amounts to £470, with an estimate from the vets of a further £5,000 for its removal so I am appealing for help to raise the funds for Belle so she can to have more time enjoying her life.

Thank you for taking the time to read about this special little girl and her predicament, any donation would be greatly appreciated. x
