Help Ben Tuttle after life threatening condition!
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Vikki and one of my best friends Ben Tuttle has been hospitalized after suffering from a sudden and very rare life-threatening condition called adult epiglottitis. Had he not gotten to the hospital when he did he would have stopped breathing. When he arrived at the hospital, he had extremely compromised airways and lost almost all of his ability to breathe, and they brought him in and did an emergency tracheotomy. He was then placed on a ventilator for the weekend and is now being weaned off.
Ben is expected to make a full recovery, but there will be a long road ahead of him. His hospital stay could be two weeks or longer, and his recovery time may take up to six weeks to fully heal. During this time, he will be out of work. Ben will need assistance covering his medical and other bills, any and all donations can help. Both his parents Mark and Tina Tuttle have been with him every day as he can not speak and he is scared and in a lot of pain.
Marks works on Facebook inspire many people so I am copying them here: "Each day is a gift from God - choose how you use each day wisely as tomorrow is never promised. Ben is holding his own and I expect he will make a full recovery. He has some healing to do for now and we thank God for the talented physicians, nurses and other staff caring for him, but above all for God’s continued grace for Ben."
From Mark Tuttle on July 10th: Update on Benjamin Tuttle
Ben remains in the intensive care unit making slow but steady progress. He has been weaned of the ventilator and is breathing on his own through his tracheotomy with humidified oxygen. He has been awake a little and as you can imagine being unable to talk at this point - he is super uncomfortable and restless with the trach, IV’s, tubes etc . He’s where he needs to be for now. We are thankful and so grateful that he survived this potentially life-threatening super rare condition called Adult Epiglottitis. While his hospital stay will be long he should make a full recovery
