Help Ben with training & travel to 2023 Worlds

Hi,I’m raising funds to support Ben with his training and travel costs throughout the year and to get him to the 2023 WCMX World Championships.This year is being held in La Quinta,CA USA.

Ben was born with spina bifida and hydrocephalus hence why he is in a wheelchair and has a VP shunt installed in his head to drain the fluid from around his brain.

His passion is the skatepark after being introduced to it by a skateboarder/surfer and seeing Videos of Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham on YouTube and when our local skatepark opened he started going down there to socialise with his friends and ride the ramps in his every day wheelchair until the screws kept coming loose!

In September 2018 he received his bespoke chair which enabled him to progress, and with the help of 2019 Womens World Champion Lily Rice take up the sport of WCMX more seriously,

Due to his condition he has learning difficulties and struggles with remembering things,even when putting together tricks and during his runs which magnifies his achievements.

In the 2019 WCMX World Championships aged 8 he placed 4th in the Kids Division in Cologne,Germany.

In 2020 due to the Covid pandemic the event went virtual on line and he won the Beginners Division and became a World Champion.

2021 due to Covid there was no competition

In April 2022 he became the first male in the UK and the youngest in Europe to complete a wheelchair backflip.

2022 World Championships took place in December in Fontana,CA and Ben entered the Pro/Open Division with the best riders in the world and placed joint 9th and in the process at the age of 13 became the youngest person ever to enter that category.

Ben is hoping to train and learn more to place higher this year.

Any help you are able to give will be greatly appreciated as Bank of Mum & Dad can only go so far in what is like most parasports very expensive.
