Help Benita’s Future

Hi, I am Benita, a resilient 7year-old girl who is reaching out to you with an urgent plea for help.
On November 15, 2022, during the Woman Life Freedom protests in our country, I was innocently playing at my grandfather's house balcony when tragedy struck—I was shot with a pellet gun in my face and sustained multiple severe pellet injuries to my head, face, skull and especially a pellet to my right eye.
The aftermath has been a challenging journey filled with multiple surgeries, medical complications. I was put on anti seizure medications which lead to extreme pain in my face and head that sometimes continued for a whole week. After the eye drops failed to control the eye pressure, a valve was implanted but despite all these efforts, I lost the vision in my right eye.
Ever since the incident, my parents' life has been on hold. They sent my medical files to doctors around the world. They finally managed to bring me to the USA for a chance at a brighter future. Multiple eye surgeons have examined my case, revealing the necessity for upcoming surgeries to extract pellets from my right eye, face and skull. Additionally, routine visits, and eye socket supports are crucial for a normal growth of the skull and maintaining future facial symmetry.
While we feel grateful for the opportunity in the USA, the financial burden of medical expenses, housing, transport and living costs of me and my parents weighs heavily on my family. This is why we are reaching out to you, our extended community, for support and assistance. Your generosity can make a significant impact on my journey towards recovery. Any contribution, big or small, will go a long way in covering the expenses of my treatment and a more comfortable living situation for my family. Regular checkups and scans allows me to experience the springs of life with fewer complications. Your compassion and support mean the world to us, and we deeply appreciate your valuable help during this challenging time. Let's come together to bring light into my life and help me and my family overcome this unimaginable tragedy.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Benita and family
