My name is Colleen Fida and I am writing this on behalf of my 2 ½ year-old nephew, Benjamin Pin, and his entire family.
On Sunday, November 17, 2019, my sister Kelly and her husband Dan brought Benjamin to Nemours A.I. DuPont Hospital ER with a high fever and belly pains. He was admitted that night because of very concerning blood work, and on Thursday, November 21, 2019, after a bone marrow biopsy, our little Benny was diagnosed with B-Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
While Benny’s doctors are optimistic about his prognosis, the road to recovery will be very difficult for the entire family. They will be faced with many challenges, including the many medical bills, medications and other related expenses associated with providing Benny with the best possible treatment and care. And because he will need around the clock care, Kelly will not be returning to work at this time.
I am asking for support from the community to help us provide Benny with everything he needs to win this fight against Leukemia. Benny is so strong and he will fight this battle. And Kelly, Dan and Benny's five-year old sister, Amelia, are willing to do everything they possibly can to fight right alongside him.
