Help Benson Fight His Brain Tumor

My name is Janine but many just know me as Benson’s mom. Normally, you can see me on daily walks with My beloved Golden Retriever’s Benson and Brewer through town. To know the two of them is to love them. As puppy’s they basically grew up in the Sayville

Starbucks, Benson is now 5 and Brewer is 3 1/2. Benson is more the quiet type , never leaves my side and sneaks out the door with me every morning for his pup cup. When I tell you he is the most HANDSOME dog you will ever meet you will have to ask the hundreds of people that stop me every five feet for pets and kisses from both of them. Oh and don’t forget about the ones who actually stop in traffic with their cars to let me know how handsome they really are and ask where they came from. I tell you their breeder must have a list long of potential paw parents.

My world turned upside down on Sunday night when Benson at 5 years old had his first ever seizure. By Monday morning he had his second and rushed to the ER where he had his third. Then the dreaded news no one wants to hear… Brain Tumor. My heart sunk. My head was underwater. My best friend, companion , the only one I go home to has a Brain Tumor.

On top of the horrible news is the horrible bills. His insurance of $5,000 is maxed out. Unfortunately he had a rough year. The current bills are at $9,000 and still has more tests This Thursday when I meet the radiologist.

I will choose to do radiation as he is only 5 years old and it’s in a place that if you had a brain tumor it’s where you would want it to be.

So Please, if you have met Benson, he’s made you smile, gave you a kiss, made your child smile or just made your day better please find it in your heart to give this young pup a fighting chance.
