Help BIG Recover From a Devastating Break-in
Donation protected
On January 17, just a week out from the 2023 festival, BIG Winter Classic's new DIY venue, The BIG Broken Basement, was broken into and over $15,000 in items were stolen.
This includes $10,000 worth of carpentry equipment that belonged to a dedicated volunteer who was giving their time to turn the BIG Broken Basement into a safe and welcoming community space. Other valuables, such as tech equipment, merch, and donated alcohol were also stolen.
As a registered non-profit, BIG is absolutely devastated by this loss. The festival is run by a team of dedicated volunteers, and every cent the festival has goes into making BIG a special event for our community. We are especially heartbroken that through the loss of his equipment, one of our volunteer's livelihoods will be negatively affected.
BIG 2023 will still happen. Nothing can stop us from bringing music and art to Calgary and celebrating with our community! But any donation to the festival and our volunteers to recoup our losses would be an incredible gift.
We want to thank our incredible community for standing with us, and we can't wait to rock out with you at BIG 2023!
