Help Bigul’s Father Give His Son a Final Farewell — After Six Long Years

Dear Community Members and Well-Wishers,

After six long years of uncertainty, heartbreak, and waiting — the time has finally come for Mr. Biswonath Pandit to bid a final farewell to his beloved son, Bigul Pandit.

In 2017, 21-year-old Bigul tragically went missing, and only in 2019 were his remains discovered near the Murray River in Albury, NSW. Since then, his remains have been held with the NSW Coroner. For years, Mr. Pandit has longed for closure — to see his son’s remains, perform the final rituals, and honour his memory with dignity.

Thanks to the relentless efforts of NRNA Australia and the Honorary Consulate of Nepal in NSW, Mr. Pandit was finally able to travel from Nepal to Australia. With deep coordination and care, we facilitated crucial meetings between Mr. Pandit and NSW authorities — including NSW Police, NSW Health, and the NSW Coroner’s Court. After tireless advocacy, we are finally at a place where Bigul’s family can proceed with the long-overdue farewell he deserves.

But we need your help.

We are now raising funds to support:

The final rites and rituals for Bigul in accordance with his family's traditions,

Local logistical expenses for Mr. Pandit during his stay in Australia,

Costs related to the release, cremation, and return of remains or ashes (if applicable),

Travel and other miscellaneous expenses directly associated with this difficult journey.
