Help Bill Regain Mobility with a New Wheelchair
Donation protected
My name is Bill! On April 9th my electric custom-made wheelchair that I use every day to get out run my errands, get my groceries and to just stay mobile and to continue to care for myself was stolen from my backyard. I immediately called the police and filed a report and asked a friend to drive around the neighborhood and look for my wheelchair! Now that more than a week has passed with no news or sightings, I’m assuming it is gone forever.
I was quite fortunate to receive this Wheelchair several years ago after I had been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, which is a progressive and incurable neurological disease of which limited mobility is a symptom. My wheelchair has kept me from becoming homebound and able to remain independent. I am now in the process of replacing it through my Medicare coverage. However, this wheelchair, with all of its assistive capabilities, cost my health insurer $30,000, and my copay was just over $3,000. That is the amount I'm hoping to get some help with.
Thank you so very much! I will forever be grateful!
