Help Bimal Thapa Magar: Carjacked at gunpoint

Donation protected
Hello and Namaste
I am Sabin Shrestha (Nephew of Bimal Thapa Magar). I am trying to help him by fundraising for him while he is in his hard times.
He has been living in the east bay since 2018. He has been driving Uber full-time since 2019. This is his primary source of income. He also has to support his family financially back home in Nepal. Below is the story of the unfortunate incident he had to go through in his own words.

I was driving for Uber on 1st October in Oakland as usual. I picked up two guys, and it was just about a 1.5 mi ride. I was going towards the E 17th st, Oakland drop-off location. One of them wanted to talk with me and asked, "where do you live?" I thought they were friendly and said, "I live in Richmond, but I am originally from Nepal." Then we did not have any conversation. Until then, I had no idea what they were trying to do with me. We reached the drop-off location after driving for around 7 minutes. I stopped the car and told them we had reached the destination. They told me they were waiting for the way out. Then one of them asked for hand sanitizer, which I gave him, and he asked for more. I gave it to him again. After a while, one of the guys pointed a gun at my head and said not to move. And another guy started taking my stuff: wallet, phone, AirPods, and car key. Then he saw my dashcam, and he pulled and threw it out. And finally pulled me out and told me to lie on the street, I was lying on the road, and they drove away. After they left, I took a dashcam and walked down the street, asking for help. I saw a food truck and store a few blocks down. I went to the store and asked for help. The guy from the store was accommodating. He called the police and let me contact my friends as well. Then my friends came there after half an hour. After one and a half hours, police arrived and inquired about what happened, and I also provided them dash cam footage. After days I called Uber and informed them about the incident, but Uber told me they cover medical bills if the driver was physically or mentally injured. Still, they won’t cover my loss of wages until I get back to work.
My car is covered by insurance. I lost my job after this incident, as Uber was my full-time job. I don't think I can get back to work for a while cause I am still traumatized. So for this period, I need some financial and moral support. I will appreciate your help as I look forward to recovering mentally as soon as possible and returning to my everyday life. Thank you for helping me in this situation.

Any funds raised in this campaign will help him with his living expenses while he cannot work due to this trauma. Please share this fundraiser with your friends and community.

Following is the news coverage of the incident.
