Caiyuda's New Meditation Tipi
Greetings communitas,
The time has come to once again expand the prayer that resides within the wellsprings of my heart, birthing a new temple space for our community meditations.
We've been weaving a powerful healing portal in our smaller bell tent over the past few months, however the calling is loud and clear to once again welcome a tipi into our lives.
---
Warmth of blanket.
Crackle of grandfather fire.
Chirping songbirds by the water.
Laying down flowers at the altar of our hearts.
Sweet melody of six string singing us right back home.
Circular vortex above as timber poles support canvas walls, elemental winds wrapping us in gentle embrace.
----
I made the trek out to a maestro tipi maker the other day.
He showed me his workshop and shared his process of cutting, stitching, threading, pole-making, laminating, and all the other detailed subtleties that go into crafting a quality structure.
Our previous tipi from years ago was 18 foot.
This new one will be considerably bigger at 24 foot.
The photo below is a great reference for the size of the tipi, in comparison to the people on the left. It's going to be super spacious. And epic.
The poles are almost 10m in length! Huge.
Once we have this meditation tipi, we will be able to offer longer stays for more expansive work. Back to back (to back) meditations. We'll see what unfolds in good time.
Our current meditation space will become a rest and relaxation area, for community to make tea, read books, find solace and protection from the elements during the times where we're not gathered in the tipi.
The tipi isn't cheap, and rightfully so, as this maestro does it all by himself, by hand, and it takes him 8-12 weeks to complete just one tipi.
Once he finishes up with his current projects, he can get started on this one, which will anywhere between a September-November arrival. That will give plenty of time to raise the funds, and prepare the space where the tipi will be going.
There isn't that much work that I'll need to do, however I will need to flatten the sloping earth, lay down some sand, and get some builders plastic in to stop some of the dampness rising through the floor.
---
The total cost of the tipi alone is $13,916.
That includes the outer canvas, inner lining, cords, rope, pegs, lacing pins, rainchute, door, laminated poles. The outer canvas will also have fire retardant treatment to extend the life and protection of the material.
To lock it all in requires a $2000 deposit. I'm going to pay that early next week to keep the ball rolling.
On top of that, I'll have to acquire all the extras, such as flooring, seats, cushions, blankets, and all the rest of it to ensure our meditations are golden.
It's a huge investment.
And that's the way it is.
As many of you know, your contributions for meditation go back into the land, back into the space, to keep expanding the vision for a beautiful healing sanctuary for family and community.
It nourishes me to be able to create these spaces for us all to come together and weave our way into a larger tapestry of healing; for ourselves, for our beloveds, for all relatives.
If you can feel the blooming of this prayer in your heart, I'd be very grateful to have your support.
In return for your contributions, I would love to offer the following in return:
For any donations over $100, this will go directly to your contribution for meditation, once the new tipi space is up and running.
That is provided you meet appropriate suitability for meditations.
All you've gotta do is remind me at the time and I'll be very happy to take off your donation at the time of making meditation contribution.
I'll be taking notes of all those who have donated, but please remind me in good time.
You're also welcome to donate from the generosity of your heart without expecting anything in return. It's all welcomed and appreciated!
And, if you know someone with a deep deep wallet that might be open to supporting this prayer, please let them know and let me know!
Totally open to big funders!
I'm excited to have this come to fruition and also resting in the patience, knowing that this will arise exactly when it's meant to. I can't wait to share this new space with everyone.
My warmest thankyous,
Caiyuda
