Help Black Owned Coffee Survive

I'm raising money to help an amazing Black-owned business, Woodstock Coffee Roasters, which is owned by my brother-in-law, Darnell. He has been attempting to expand his business, but as a formerly incarcerated Black man, he has had difficulty receiving loans to do so. Because of this, other non-Black local coffee companies have begun to undercut his company and nearly drive Woodstock to closure.

 

Darnell is seeking support to create an arm of his roasting business called Second Chance Coffee, which will focus on hiring other formerly incarcerated people of color to distribute environmentally responsible boxed coffee.

 

As a formerly incarcerated Black man, Darnell has taken great strides to disrupt and dismantle the systemic ways people are kept from career opportunities.

 

The goal is to help people find opportunities to learn critical skills in digital, sales, and logistics spaces that are often otherwise unavailable, while also giving Darnell's company a chance to expand beyond roasting -- and ultimately survive. I hope you'll help him.
