Help Bleah Maintain Her Home During Internship

Hello!

My name is Bleah and I'm an MFA/MA dual student in Texas studying creative writing, publishing, editing, and literature. I have been given an incredible opportunity to spend the summer in Manhatten interning with the National Book Foundation. My university has been so generous in supporting me with scholarships, paying for travel, and my housing while in New York. That being said, I won't be paid for the internship and my stipened for remote work at the university will not cover my rent/electricty back here in Texas. While subleasing would have been a no-brainer, I do have three cats who live here and my lease doesn't allow subleasers for short term. I'm not able to move out of my apartment completely, or to store my furniture. All of that to say, I am reaching out---admitedly very hesitantly!---to say I am trying to put together some money to pay my rent while I am gone. I will be gone May 27th-August 9th. July and August rent and electriticty (which will be minimal since I'm gone), plus GoFundMe's fees will be about $2700. Of course, I feel conflicted asking for money when it's in service of such a privileged and amazing experience, so if you're not called to donate or donating would be any burden to you PLEASE do not feel any obligation even out of friendship. Otherwise, anything at all would help get me closer to making this internship a lot more manageable and less stressful. I appreciate any help at all, so much.
