BLOOM IS GOING TO FINALS!!!
On March 30th, we competed in our Semifinal round in Scottsdale, Arizona, and excitingly took home the awards for outstanding arrangement (Jerick Rose and Sicily Poulter), outstanding soloist (Sicily Poulter), and SOUTHWEST SEMIFINAL CHAMPIONS! This now means we will be traveling to NYC on April 22nd to compete in the Final round!
At the beginning of this year’s competition, there were 400+ competing groups which have been narrowed down to the top 10 internationally! We will be competing among institutions like the University of Miami, Durham University and Berklee College of Music. Not only is this UVU's first time being represented at Finals, it's a big deal because the finalist usually consists of big name universities with very low acceptance rates, and groups that have been competing for 10+ years. UVU is a 100% open enrollment university, with this group being entirely student led and only our second year competing. This is truly a mark of the dedication and hard work of our team.
To be advancing to Finals is beyond humbling, and we couldn't have done it without our incredible friends and family who donated. We are once again kindly asking for support to help us cover expenses related to our stay and travel in New York. Any contributions will be so incredibly beneficial in helping us make it to the final round!
