Blue Highway Games is a friendly local game shop located in Seattle, WA. BHG was established in 2007 and has been a community staple ever since! In October 2021, BHG received new owners, Josh & Kyndra Williams. We are a young local Seattle couple chasing our dreams - and we need your help!
BHG is a wonderful little retail hobby shop specializing in board games, card games, puzzles, trading cards, and their associated accessories. We also host a variety of game events, from game demo days with designers to weekly game nights to puzzle exchanges. Our store features a homely playspace full of wooden tables & a board game library for the community to use! BHG has something for everyone, from the curious browser to the tabletop enthusiast. We hope to be providing games, puzzles, and event experiences for many years to come!
Blue Highway has faced several challenges through the pandemic and has overcome each one so far. However, we've experienced 3 break-ins in just over a 2 month period, the most recent being Monday, July 4th 2022 at 4:30 AM. The 2 other break-ins occurred on May 1st and May 13th of 2022. As a result of these break-ins, this period of time has been very challenging for our small business. The cost of lost product and property damage repairs adds up quickly and is a major hit to a shop like ours. Thankfully we have business insurance to help with the costs, however, we lack the funds to make the necessary improvements to the store to prevent this from happening again. Currently, board game and trading card shops are being targeted at an alarming rate all over the Seattle area & the country by thieves, whose main targets are typically collectible trading card products like Magic the Gathering & Pokemon - so we anticipate break-ins will continue to be attempted. So we are asking our wonderful community of board gamers & small business supporters in the local area and from afar to help raise money for the necessary security improvements needed to deter further break-ins and to help offset the losses we've experienced these past 2 months.
Money raised to meet our goal will help provide better locks, reinforce exterior & interior doors, install improved security systems/alarms, and more. Any additional money raised will go towards further store improvements around security & building repairs (we operate out of a pretty old building).
