Help Blue's hoomom Kim with much needed car repairs ASAP!

I'm trying to raise funds for car repairs. I have Stage 2 esophageal cancer, and rely on my vehicle to get back and forth to the doctor, to get my radiation treatments (which are 5 days a week, in a town about 30 min away), as well as picking up my ever-changing meds. I get disability, but that amount has recently been lowered due to the income I was receiving while cleaning houses. (It is under appeal and will be reviewed soon). I have also started a work from home job, but am limited to the hours I can work due to radiation treatments and the fact that, even though it is work from home, there are days I am just too sick to even lift my head off the pillow.

My car needs a new alternator, and it really needs new brakes sooner than later. The dealership quoted me $1500, but I have a wonderful neighbor who's a mechanic. He's bought things from me before from Facebook Marketplace and knows my situation. He is willing to fix my car basically just for the cost of the parts, trading me his labor costs in exchange for some house cleaning, childcare, etc. With not a lot of income coming in, being extremely sick lately, and having my food stamps cut, I just don't have the funds to get my car fixed right now. (And taking an Uber to and from treatments 5 days a week would equal about $40 A DAY...I can't afford that, either).

I am very grateful for my neighbor's willingness to fix my car for almost half of what the dealership wants, but I desperately need help to even get that amount. Please help if you can, or at least share my post.
