Help Bob and Kathy Rebuild After Explosion
Donation protected
In the early morning of April 3, 2025, a house explosion at Burns and Edison rocked the neighborhoods of Southgate. Bob and Kathy Wood were woken by a deafening blast, which not only destroyed their home, the neighboring house, but left them with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Though they are both incredibly grateful to have escaped with their lives, the emotional and financial toll of losing everything they’ve worked for is unimaginable.
Bob, a proud Marine veteran, has dedicated his life to serving others and making his community a better place. He has been a long time Downriver native, known for his generosity, kindness, and positive attitude. After years of hard work, he and Kathy were finally looking forward to their retirement years, but this tragedy has completely upended their plans.
As they begin the long and difficult process of rebuilding their lives, we are asking for your support. Whether it’s a small donation or sharing their story, any help you can provide would mean the world to Bob, Kathy, and their family. Every donation will go toward helping them find a new place to live, replace their belongings, and get back on their feet.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity during this incredibly difficult time. Your support will help make a difference in their lives.
