Help Bob Scheurer fight cancer

Thanks to all who donated here: https://gofund.me/c01dfbbe   And a big thanks to Kevin Stewart who started this initiative and raised a ton of money for  Bob.  His site was tied to his race and he’s completed that (follow the link to see how that went).  We’re continuing his good work here (with his involvement), and we encourage you to help.

Big Bob” Scheurer, you couldn’t miss him ever, he’s a big man with a big heart that has intersected with many of our lives. He’s played football at Saint Peters Prep and Bucknell, he’s played Rugby for the Bayonnne Bombers and Bucknell, but most importantly he’s a father to three Eagle Scouts all now in college and husband to his wife Sheila. Whenever you are at the Scheurer household, your plate was never empty, your glass was always brimming and you never left without laughter, a great story, and a full stomach.


Bob throughout his life has always been “on the field”, whether it be for sports, his community, his church and most of all,  for his family. He’s a joiner, whether it be the Knights of Columbus, Saint Michaels Parish,the JCs or other parts of his hometown community in Cranford NJ, Bob is a big part of many peoples lives wherever he’s set up his tent pegs.


Bob has been dealt an incredibly bad hand, this summer he was diagnosed with advanced stage lung cancer. Those that know Bob, know that he’s never smoked a day in his life and he’s now in the biggest fight of his life to combat this demon that has sapped his strength but not his will. The primary cancers have spread into his back, but Bob has fought back valiantly with chemo, radiation, immunotherapy and with a hell of a lot of prayer from all those around him.


We, Bob’s teammates, his fraternity brothers, his community and his friends from many places are reaching out to you for your help to assist Bob’s family through this difficult struggle.   Despite his challenges, Bob continues to work part time but with the diminution of his pay and bonuses, we are looking to fill this gap and most importantly, help with college tuition for his sons Robert, Johnny and Mike.  Rob is at Union County college and the twins are at Siena College where they are currently playing Rugby.


We are targeting an initial raise of $100,000 for this mission and are reaching out to Bob’s community:
