Help Bobby Recover from Devastating Scam

I have been involved in many fundraisers. But this one hits home especially hard. My brother Bobby was not only scammed out of his entire life savings and was also convinced to apply for a home equity loan against his home. The actual total is roughly $507,000. Despite the total devastation our entire family is feeling, Robert came forward in order to protect other people from becoming victim to this horrible scam. We have been working with the FBI that resulted in one arrest so far. We are hoping for more in the future. However, none of that helps Bob out of his current financial situation.

Bob is a Vietnam veteran and in true veteran fashion has continued to protect and serve his entire life. A hero understands the responsibility that comes from his freedom. Bob put his responsibility to help others above himself. To me that makes him a true hero.

I am not asking to try and build a bank account. But I am begging for you to help me renew his faith in others. Please help me put a dent in that huge loan. Please help me save his home. If there’s one thing I know, it’s that our community helps each other. And veterans help veterans. I am asking family and friends to help and make a difference. And to share this post as much as possible.

My brother lived his life always giving to others. It is said that giving opens the way to receiving. I pray each of you will find a way to help him receive. To make my hope of paying off that $100,000 loan a reality.

I also ask that you respect the devastation we are all feeling. Please do not approach him with questions or insults to make him feel worse than he already does. Our goal was to wait before we told our story but since it was shared on North Adams Good News and iberkshires, I came forward.

Directly on the loan at Adams cooperative bank in North Adams. Or directly to me! I have set my goal high and I can’t stop until I get there. Most importantly I can’t get there without your help. Please.
