Help Lake Stevens Jewelers Recover from A Burglary

As many of you know the Lake Stevens jewelers was burglarized last night. This small business owner is having to close his doors after 19 years in business here in Lake Stevens due to the robbery. Sadly, he posted a note on the door that he was closed for the Fourth of July holiday, and took off for a camping trip. Once he returned to cell service, he turned on his phone to many missed calls by the Lake Stevens Police Department notifying him that his store had been robbed. He was devastated. Everything he had worked for his whole life, gone overnight. Unfortunately, they didn’t just take his valuables, but they trashed his store, damaging and taking hundreds of thousands of dollars in equipment and merchandise. Today he is left, worrying about how he is going to make it day-to-day. I created this go fund me since so many people at the Lake Stevens community asked how they could help since many people know Bogdan personally as he has been a member of the community for over the past 20 years. He has many regular customers. He is not only a neighbor to me, but one of our best friends, and we would love to be able to help him financially ease the burden, as he is currently in a lease for another two years at the store. Today he has decided to close his doors as he does not think he can rebuild due to the amount of damage and loss. During Covid, he decided to cancel his theft insurance due to the business sales slowing down so much. In order to keep his business going, he regretfully does not have insurance to cover his losses at this time. Bogdan had insurance for 17 years. For a jeweler, insurance that covers merchandise is VERY expensive. Once Covid hit, business took a nose dive to where he was having to use his savings to pay his building rent, his mortgage, his daughters college and all other expenses. He was struggling with keeping his store open. He removed all of the jewelry in the glass casings and stored them in the safe every time he left the store. He’s never had any type of issue with theft since he’s opened his business in lake Stevens 19 years ago. He planned on reinstating his policies once he was back in the green, but the economy has been tough lately. Everyone is watching what they are spending since the pandemic hit.

He donates often to the local community every chance he has, so I would love to be able to rally around him, and help him is the financial burden, and hopefully be able to re-open his store.
