Help Boger City Optimist 12U BB Compete at the World Series
Donation protected
For the first time in its 39-year history, a rec league baseball team from Boger City Optimist Club has won the NC state championship and is headed to the World Series. The 12U team won the D1 Diamond League Baseball state championship this past week in Tabor City, NC, beating out six other district champions. They are now headed to the Diamond League Baseball World Series in Bossier City, LA. There, they will compete against other state champions from across the southeast.
Boger City is a small rural community situated between Denver and Lincolnton, NC. As such, there are not a lot of local businesses to provide financial support/sponsorship for the team. Heading to the World Series is a travel ball standard trying to be done on a rec ball budget.
All funds raised will be given to Boger City Optimist Club, a 501c3 organization. They will, in turn, use all funds raised to offset the family’s lodging and transportation costs for the team. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for some of these kids who will never get the chance to play travel ball and enjoy the unique opportunities it affords.
