Help Bolivian Kids Get A New Start

In June I'll be lucky enough to return to the kids at Aldea Alalay for a third year. Aldea Alalay is a home in Santa Cruz, Bolivia for kids who have been homeless. These kids have often been abandoned by their parents and have been living on the streets for years. They are taken in by eight wonderful women who care for over 60 kids, and for the past two summers, I've gotten to play with the kids, help the caretakers, and work to improve the Aldea.

Last year, thanks to awesome family and friends, I raised $1,700. I used the money to bring hundreds of pieces of clothing, from pajamas to jackets, some of my favorite athletic and brain games, from Frisbee to Set, and six Samsung tablets for them to use to do their homework and learn math, English, and science. Seeing their faces light up at picking their favorite piece of clothing or understanding how to play a new game was a privilege I won't forget.

This year, the center has grown from five to seven cabins of kids, and their needs have grown with their impact. I need your help to support them expand and help more kids without sacrificing the resources of those already there. I want to bring them the necessities they lack, such as bedsheets, silverware, and a washing machine, as well as toys to let them pass long afternoons just playing as kids. I'd also like to expand on last year's tablets by ensuring they have connectivity with wifi extenders so they can access online resources like Khan Academy and Duolingo.
