Help Bonnie walk again: Urgent surgery needed
Hi, my name is Gabi and I’m writing this with a heavy heart, filled with love and hope for my sweet cat, Bonnie. Our journey with Bonnie began last autumn when we started feeding her mother, Mawa, a stray cat who wandered into our lives during the cold months. We soon realised Mawa was pregnant, and to our amazement, she gave birth to five adorable kittens in a shopping bag in an old outdoor toilet in our shed. We were so worried about how cold it was that we decided to bring them all inside to keep them safe and warm.
As we cared for Mawa and her tiny kittens, we fell in love with them all. We decided to keep Bonnie and her mother (while her siblings were happily re-homed), and they’ve been cherished members of our family ever since. Bonnie quickly became a vibrant little spirit, bringing so much joy and laughter into our home.
It was 2 days ago when we noticed Bonnie sitting and waiting in pain on our garden patio, crying out loudly. With immediate concern to the odd angle her leg was, we rushed her to an emergency vet in the evening, in result, tragically, Bonnie had suffered a severe injury, resulting in a critical break in her leg. We were advised to have immediate x-rays done, and strong pain relief medication was given, as anyone could see how much distress she was in. This is not just a minor injury; it requires immediate surgical intervention to repair the damage. After consulting with our Vet, I’ve managed to book her a surgery, but I desperately need your help to raise money, as I found out £4,000 is needed to make it happen.
Unfortunately, Bonnie’s pet insurance has already been exhausted on previous veterinary appointments, leaving me unable to afford this crucial surgery. If I can’t raise the funds soon, I’ll face the heartbreaking decision of considering amputation. This would seriously affect Bonnie, as she loves going outdoors, and I cannot imagine Bonnie's life without the outside being part of it. If time runs out, I may have to make the unthinkable choice of putting Bonnie down. Without the surgery, her condition could deteriorate rapidly, leading to chronic pain and limited mobility, robbing her of the happiness she deserves.
Bonnie is more than just a pet; she is part of the family, and I love her so much, and I wish for her to continue to live a long life where me and my family can continue to love her. It breaks my heart to think she would have to be put down. Her playful antics and gentle purrs have touched everyone who has met her, and it breaks my heart to see her in pain and unable to enjoy the simple pleasures of life.
I’m so grateful for any help you can provide. I promise to keep everyone updated on Bonnie’s progress as we navigate this challenging journey together. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for considering a donation to help save Bonnie!
