Help Boundzy in his fight against Motor Neurone Disease

Donation protected
Jason Bounds (38), along with his wife Chelsee and their two young children, Shelby (11) and Jackson (9), has recently received devastating news: Boundzy has been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Boundzy is not only a dedicated family man but also the owner of his own building and construction business, Bounds Construction. He is highly skilled in his trade, but towards in June 2023, he began experiencing difficulties holding up heavy tools and noticed a reduced strength and grip in his right hand. Initially attributing these symptoms to potential muscle issues related to his work, he sought treatment from an osteopath.

However, what started as a seemingly manageable issue quickly escalated. Numerous appointments with specialists, including neurologists, followed, along with a battery of tests ranging from CT scans to MRIs, PET scans, lumbar punctures, nerve conduction studies, 3 EMG tests and more. Despite the extensive testing, it wasn't until February 2024 that the official diagnosis of MND was confirmed.

Since then, Boundzy's condition has rapidly deteriorated. His fine motor skills in his right hand have significantly declined and muscle atrophy, making even simple tasks like holding screws or playing his guitar challenging. This has forced Boundzy into an early retirement, disrupting both his livelihood and his family's financial stability.

Boundzy and Chelsee had invested their hopes and efforts into renovating their family home in The Basin, a dream location where Boundzy grew up. However, financial constraints and Boundzy's declining health have brought their renovation project to a halt. Furthermore, modifications to accommodate Boundzy's increasing mobility needs are now necessary, such as widening door frames, adding ramps etc.

In February 2024 he was given a prognosis of only 27 months, Boundzy and Chelsee have confronted the difficult task of creating lasting memories with their children. Their bucket list includes simple pleasures like bike rides to school, family photos, completing their backyard, and even embarking on a family caravan trip across Australia.

However, realising these dreams requires financial support. While they do have some personal insurance, the processing time for claims is lengthy, and time is a luxury they cannot afford. With the clock ticking, we are asking for your help to support the Bounds family in creating these cherished memories and experiences while Boundzy is still able to walk, talk, and engage with his loved ones. Your contribution will make a significant difference in their journey.
