Help Brad Cotton & his children with his lung transplant

Brad Cotton is a 56-year-old father of three adult children who suffers from Idiopathic pulmonary

fibrosis (IPF), a chronic lung disease that causes scarring and damage to the lung tissue. Brad was

diagnosed with this condition five years ago and has been managing it with medication and oxygen

therapy. However, his health took a turn for the worse when he contracted pneumonia in March 2024.

He has since been hospitalized at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis and was put on a waiting list for a

lung transplant.

Why does he need your help?

Brad's condition is critical, and he needs a lung transplant as soon as possible. He is being transported to

Chicago, where he will undergo surgery at a specialized center. However, this also means that his three

children, who are also young parents, will have to relocate to Chicago to be with him and support him

during this difficult time. They will also need to provide 24-hour care for him for at least three months

after he returns home from the hospital.

This is a huge financial burden for Brad and his children, who have already faced a lot of hardship and

loss. The children’s mother passed away in September 2023 at the age of 54, leaving them with grief and

expenses. Brad's children have also lost wages and income due to their caregiving responsibilities. They

will need help to pay for their additional rent, gas, legal expenses to establish POA and transportation,

let alone the medical costs of Brad's lung transplant and recovery.
