We are reaching out to share the story of our dear friend, Brad “Pooky” McGowan, who is bravely fighting renal cell carcinoma. Pook is an amazing husband to his equally amazing wife Stacey, loving father of sons Dennis “Jummers” and Zach McGowan, and proud Pappy to his grandchildren Quinn and Xander. He is also a cherished friend to so many of us in our community. If you know Pook, you love him, and when you see Pook, the first thing you do is smile.

The Diagnosis:

Recently, Pooky was diagnosed with stage 4 renal cell carcinoma, an aggressive form of kidney cancer. The diagnosis was devastating, but Pook and Stacey have shown incredible courage and determination in the face of this daunting battle. He has a talented team of doctors on his side and the treatment plan includes a combination of chemotherapy, radiation, and immunotherapy. The intensive treatments are proving to be both physically and emotionally exhausting.

The financial burden of battling stage 4 cancer is immense. Despite insurance, the costs for specialized treatments and care along with daily living expenses quickly add up.
