In Memoriam - Brakdon "B Man" Penn Agar

Donation protected

Hi Friends,

My name is Chris, and am one of many who know and love the Agar family. If you have the pleasure of knowing them personally, you know of their selflessness and desire to serve and bless others. If you have never met them, envision your close friend or mentor who is always there for you, is willing to sacrifice their comforts for yours and loves you the way you need to be loved. The Agar's are a family of faith, sacrifice and care for others.

Recently, they have endured challenges on two fronts. The family of four (Cory, Diana, Brakdon, and Aviana) tested positive for COVID-19 and quarantined to protect others from infection. Simultaneously,  Diana's father, a vibrant and healthy 78-year-old contracted COVID-19 and was hospitalized on August 1st. He was isolated and put on oxygen. While Norm (Diana's father) was hospitalized, Brakdon's condition grew worse. His fever persisted for six days and he was admitted to All Children's Hospital in St.Petersburg, Florida on August 6th.

While Brakdon battled COVID-19  the family was receiving disheartening news about Norm's condition; he was deteriorating and losing the battle against COVID-19.  Meanwhile, Brakdon was receiving blood transfusions on a nearly daily basis to right his hemoglobin levels. Through a series of tests it was discovered Brakdon was stricken with an inflammatory syndrome known as MIS-C, a new syndrome that can become serious and one doctors are learning about as more children become infected with COVID-19. He was put on steroids and oxygen and kept in the hospital for further tests. Shortly after the discovery of MIS-C, the family was delivered additional news... Brakdon had leukemia. Norm continued to fight for his life in the hospital, and at the urging of Diana, told to "be strong for Brakdon, he has leukemia and needs you".  The doctors recommended Bradkon begin an aggressive treatment program consisting of chemotherapy. He received a PICC line in his right arm and endured three chemo treatments prior to being released.

Sadly, Norm succumbed to COVID-19 on August 20th, 2021, the same day Brakdon was scheduled to arrive home from the hospital after a two-week stay. The family was heartbroken.

Brakdon is now home, under the care of Cory and Diana, and continues to receive care at All Children's hospital in St. Petersburg. Doctors are implanting a permanent port in his chest to continue his chemo treatments. He has a minimum three-year road to recovery, consisting of one time per week chemo treatments.

The Agar family needs your help. Please pray for them; for healing and peace that surpasses understanding. They also need financial help. Norm's funeral expenses, coupled with the expenses incurred from Brakdons hospital stay, treatments, and loss of work easily reach six figures.

They need your help now. The bills have arrived. Please prayerfully consider giving to the Agar family. Your gift will immediately help to lessen their financial burden and free their minds to focus on the care of Brakdon.

THANK YOU!
