Help Brandon Roach Through His Healing Process
Donation protected
If you have ever been on a Jocassee Lake Tour, chances are you are familiar with this young man, Brandon Roach. He helps you get parked, shuttles you to the boats, delivers and picks up your kayaks, gives you a call if you’re having problems with directions, meets you at the boats at the end of your tour, keeps the boats and cars maintained in good running condition, and helps keep boats and cars clean and presentable. Brandon has been a vital part of the JLT team since 2019.
On July 25th it was raining when Brandon came in to work. On his way into the gate at the boat storage yard, his motorcycle slipped and he crashed on his ankle, painfully shattering the bones. He has a long recovery ahead… twelve weeks of no weight on his ankle and another four weeks of recovery after that.
Sixteen weeks is a long time for a young man to go without income. He still has to pay for rent, cell service, food, etc. I immediately filed for his unemployment insurance because even that small amount would help, but… guess what? The state of S.C. will not pay unemployment insurance if you are sick or injured.
I am appealing for assistance from our friends and JLT guests on Brandon’s behalf, to at least help relieve the stress of his no-income-no-benefits situation. The JLT team has pitched in to help but this will be a long recovery. We would appreciate a donation from YOU!
