Help Brandy cover shelter and basics for March!
Donation protected
At the beginning of March, my friend Brandy will be forced to move OUT of stable housing and into homelessness in Lane County, Oregon.
Brandy was released from prison a couple of years ago and has been working extremely hard to get back on her feet after 14 years inside. Through frequent and difficult setbacks she has carved out a landing pad with some stability and support for herself in Clackamas county. But there's a catch: her parole conditions say she is supposed to be based in Lane county, a place she'd rather avoid that holds some difficult history for her. She has managed to file a transfer application to get her parole officially moved to Clackamas County, but according to Oregon administrative rules she MUST reside in Lane County for the 30 days of the approval process or risk denial of her application or other consequences.
For Brandy, this means homelessness for the duration of March. I have been in conversation with her about all this, and she is prepared to get through this additional setback in order to secure her long-term happiness and stability. She just really needs help raising the money to keep a roof over her head and cover basic needs.
The goal for this fundraiser is very modest and is intended to cover:
- Gas costs (for travel to and from Lane County as well as to be able to move about while there)
- Cheap hotel costs (to keep a roof over her head so she can stay warm and dry)
- Gofundme's service fees
Please contribute and share and help my friend stay safe and warm as she navigates this terrible situation. Thank you!!
