Help Brave Nicola Fight a Rare and Relentless Tumour

Nicola is my bright, brave five-year-old girl facing an incredibly tough battle. Her journey began at just nine months old, when she had a fall while learning to walk. Her mouth swelled—but instead of healing, the swelling never went down. After an operation, doctors discovered something far more serious: Giant Cell Tumour, a rare and aggressive condition that causes painful growths in and around her jaw.

There is no established treatment for Nicola’s condition yet, meaning she has endured four years of repeated surgeries while specialists at Great Ormond Street Hospital work to find a way to help her. She faces constant hospital visits, invasive procedures, and uncertainty, yet she remains as strong and resilient as ever.

Despite everything, Nicola is a happy little girl who loves going to school when she is well enough. Her family and friends could not be prouder of her courage, but behind her smiles is a daily struggle—one that is emotionally, physically, and financially exhausting for her family.

With Nicola’s care based in London, her parents must frequently travel long distances to be by her side. The costs of transport, accommodation, and time away from work quickly add up, placing an extra burden on a family already facing so much uncertainty. No parent should have to worry about money while caring for a sick child.

Right now, we can’t take away Nicola’s illness, but we can ease some of the pressure on her family.
